Moraira Activities In Moraira Things To Do In Moraira

Excursions in Moraira, Alicante

Situated between Denia, Calpe and Altea, Moraira is a very tranquil town on the Costa Blanca with an important active tourist community, those living there all year round as well as those who are either just visiting it the once or coming back every summer holiday.

The ever changing face of Moraira attracts both the holidaymaker and those wishing for a great new lifestyle on the Costa Blanca. Although the little fishing village is no more, it still retains charm, beauty, peace and friendly locals. Bejeweled with sandy and rocky coves along the coast road, it uses the stunning beautiful blue Mediterranean as its canvas. Modern additions to the village, such as buildings and new road systems etc have been well planned and executed by the Moraira town hall.

Moraira has a wide range of restaurants and bars to choose from in the town and surrounding areas. So whether you are looking for the traditional Sunday lunch, or want to try a typically Spanish plate, the Paella, you are spoilt for choice. There are some great restaurants and bars around the harbor or the marina, offering fresh locally caught fish. There is also a traditional Spanish market in the main car park of Moraira every Friday morning, where you can buy locally produced fruit and vegetables amongst many other things.

Moraira has its fair share of fiestas, the most well known is the Moors and Christians in June. People line the streets to watch the marching parades, listen to the live bands, see the stunning and colourful costumes and generally have a great time. The firework displays are always excellent and very loud.

Moraira's lovely beaches offer plenty of fun in the sun, with a number of water sports available. Local leisure facilities include golf courses and many other sports like tennis and squash that you can play outside under the sun. Several day excursions are on offer with Adventure Costa Blanca. There are also many places to visit, like the mountain-top fortress of Guadalest, Europe's largest palm forest.. Families enjoy the Moraira go-kart track, or an outing to the Aqualandia water theme park near the large tourist resort of Benidorm.
